The Mathematical Olympiad Programme

Whether it's the first rounds of the Maths Challenge or you are preparing for the International Maths Olympiad, we are focused on supporting you.

National and International Oympiad Training

What are Maths Olympiads?

Each year, over 700,000 young people take part in the UKMT Maths Challenge. There are multiple stages before participation in the Olympiad, and the Olympiads themselves have multiple stages.
National Selection Rounds
: Students participate in regional and national contests to qualify for international representation.
International Competitions
: Top students from each country compete in events like the IMO, tackling challenging problems that test creativity and problem-solving skills.

What do we specialise in?
Our focus is on training students to achieve their highest potential at all stages of the national selection rounds. In the UK, this involves sitting the Senior Maths Challenge (SMC), the Senior Kangaroo and two rounds of the British Maths Olympiad (BMO).

We appreciate each region approaches the National Rounds differently e.g. students who wish to represent the UAE in the IMO must first qualify through the Maths Olympiad Qualifier (MOQ) etc. With Olympiads from around the world, Oxbridge Math are equipped to train students from all backgrounds.

Oxbridge Math Services

1-1 Mentorship

We pair our students with our most highly qualified OxbridgeMathematics tutors to stretch their thinking, train them in writing formal mathematics and expose them to unseen concepts.

Our Olympiad tutors prepare students for all levels of the Maths Challenge, including preparation advice, mock questions, and the freedom to ask questions over email at any time with a guaranteed response within 24 hours.

Training Camps

Throughout the year, we offer training camps for groups of 5 - 20 students at all stages of mathematics competitions. Our students come from a range of ability levels:some aim to achieve a Gold medal, while others focus on succeeding in BMO. We find thatgroup classes encourage students to exchange ideas and learn collaboratively. In more advanced classes, a single question may take up an entire session, with each student contributing a unique approach that is then discussed and analysed by the group.

In 2025, we will host classes for:

  • UKMT Senior and Junior Maths Challenge (targeting a Gold medal)
  • British Maths Olympiad I and II
  • The International Maths Olympiad
  • National selection rounds in Europe, Asia and the Middle East
Preparation Materials

We offer tailored questions, detailed marking, and constructive feedback on example solutions.

Additionally, our experience enables us to recommend alternative questions based on a student’s performance in Mock Tests. For every stage of the Maths Challenge, we provide training materials and booklets to guide students through the process. Students also have access to a repository of pre-recorded solutions for further support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who will teach the Classes?

We are made up of former British Mathematical Olympiad and International Mathematical Olympiad participants from multiple countries. We assess each tutor’s depth of knowledge and problem-solving ability during the interview process, ensuring they are well-equipped to teach and thoroughly understand the format, techniques, and nuances of the questions they have personally excelled in.

What age groups do you work with?

We work with students at a range of abilities, from ages 11-18.

How are Olympiad sessions conducted?

We run our group classes throughout the year. All of our lessons are taught online through a platform called Lessonspace.

Do you tutor all levels of the Maths Challenge?

We do! Depending on the region, we help students progress from the early round (e.g. the SMC/IMC in the UK) all the way up to the later stages (BMO I/II and IMO)
